ABOUT CRIME STOPPERS

Crime Stoppers is a highly-successful program introduced into Australia in 1987, in which the community and the media help police to solve crime. It’s a simple, effective and secure way for people to provide information anonymously.

Today, calls to Crime Stoppers by the Australian public result in over 20 arrests per day. We help keep Australia safe.

Crime Stoppers Australia is the lead coordinator of national opportunities for eight state and territory independent, non-profit organisations who are licensed to deliver the Crime Stoppers program in their region.

We are an integral part of community safety across Australia and our brand is highly respected and recognisable, receiving 97% prompted awareness across a national brand survey.

Calls and online reports to Crime Stoppers have helped identify drug labs and dealers, catch wanted fugitives, solve arsons, thefts and robberies, and catch criminals wanted for violent robberies, assaults and murders.

Our 2017 national achievements include:

  • 317,129 Contacts via calls, website and other means

  • 142,694 Information reports passed to police

  • 7,907 Arrests resulting from our program

We believe that with your support, we can empower the Australian community to report more, on topics relevant to more agencies, and in innovative ways – to disrupt crime even further.
