Biography

Kathryn joined AUSTRAC in September 2016 as General Counsel. Kathryn leads AUSTRAC’s Legal Strategy and Solutions branch, which includes AUSTRAC’s Enforcement, Rules and Exemptions teams. Kathryn’s focus is on developing legally focused capabilities and solutions that facilitate AUSTRAC’s business priorities.

Before joining AUSTRAC, Kathryn held senior leadership positions in the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions, where she prosecuted a range of transnational organised crime matters including human trafficking, people smuggling and online child exploitation cases, as well as large frauds on the Commonwealth, including Operation Wickenby matters.

Kathryn has recently worked at the Attorney-General’s Department on a range of anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing policy issues.

Kathryn is a board member of the Canberra Rape Crisis Centre.
